Full-Time Firefighter / EMT or Paramedic

Seasonal Full-time Fuels/ Wildland Firefighting position

  • Seasonal Employees will be eligible to to work part time or as a Full Time Seasonal.
  • Seasonal Employees such as college students can elect to work only during their summer break
  • Seasonal Employees can work up to a total of 1560 hours per season
    • Work includes chainsaw use for cutting, thinning and felling.
    • Chipping and or burning brush piles.
    • If desired there may be opportunity to deploy out of the area for wildland fire fighting.
    • Training for chainsaw use (s-212) and Basic Wildland (S-130. 190, 180).

Pay and benefits:

Part-Time EMT or Paramedic (non fire suppression)

The Part-Time EMT or Paramedic positions will be utilized by the Fry Fire District to augment full-time staffing from 0800-2000, and based on experience there may be opportunity to work some 2000-0800 shifts.

Requirements:

  • Must possess and maintain a current State of Arizona EMT Basic or Paramedic certification.
  • EMT Basics must possess and maintain their CPR certification.
  • Paramedics must possess and maintain CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
  • Must successfully complete the Fry Fire District entrance test.
  • Must pass fitness requirements for the Fry Fire District EMS Physical Fitness Test.
  • Must successfully complete background check.
  • Must successfully pass a drug screen.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must pass the ambulance driving test.

Salary:   EMT $14.00/hr     /    CEP $16.00/hr

Benefits: Earned paid sick time (EPST) that is accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours that are worked.

Schedule: Scheduling will be done a month in advance. Part Time employees will email the coordinator their availability when requested, and will be assigned for the next month.  Part-Time employees will work on average, one 12 hour shift a week, not to exceed an average of 20 hours per week. Part-Time employees will work a minimum of 36 hours per month.

Fire Apparatus Technician

Recruiting Period: Applications will be accepted beginning September 2, 2024 and close October
4, 2024 @ 1700 hours. Applications can either be printed online or picked up at the Fry Fire
District (FFD) Administrative Office, located at: 4817 S. Apache Ave., Sierra Vista, AZ 85650.

Introduction: This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position with the Fry Fire District. Approximate
annual salary range is from $58,824.00 to $73,463.95. Benefits include comprehensive medical /
dental / vision insurance, paid time off (PTO), life insurance, educational assistance, uniform
allowance, and a 401(K) plan. This position is enrolled in the Arizona State Retirement System.

Job Overview: The Fire Apparatus Technician will report to the Fleet Services Supervisor and
perform maintenance and repairs on automotive and heavy equipment in order to ensure reliable
delivery of emergency services. In addition to emergency response and support vehicles, repair
and maintenance will also be provided for ancillary equipment used for emergency response such
as power tools, hydraulic tools, and small engines, etc.
